Golf Society - President's Prize

Darby O' Gill's Golf Society enjoyed their President's Prize outing to

Kenmare Golf Club on September 27th.

New season starts for Darby's Darts Teams

The Darts Town League is due to begin again for another season on

Thursday 9th October

Darby's will have a ladies team and a gents team, who may even have to compete against each other!

The town league will play every Thursday, the night the girls are at home, the boys are away and vice versa.

There will be an in-house competition in Darby's Sports Bar every Tuesday.

We need to get plenty of practice in this year if we are to live up to the title -

Darby O' Gill's Golf Society "2008"

Darby O' Gill's Golf Society will hold its Spring outing to "Ceann Sibeal Golf Club" in Dingle this Saturday 12th April. There is a coach leaving Darby's @8.45am.
We will also be looking for a €50.00 deposit for our Captain's Day and the balance on May 10th so as to ensure we have all arrangements covered.
A big thank you to: CK Decorators & Diageo Irl ltd for their sponsorship for this Saturday's outing. There will be a "double" prize giving this Saturday, as we were unable to for the last outing due to the "Spa Dogs Benefit Night".

Scannell Cup Darts 2008

We are now getting to the serious end of the competition. Quater finals are now being played. There have been some great matches and quite a few surprise casulties such as last years champion Ciaran Breen making his exit early.

Semi finals will be played on April 18th

FINAL will be played on Friday May 2nd

The evening commenced with a mass, said by Glenflesk Parish Priest Father Radley.

The club members then enjoyed a meal and a night of dancing.

Darbys dream Darts team made to their 2nd Plate final in a row after "the Mother of All battles with the "Dunloe Lodge B Team. We were 5-4 down after 1st away leg and got off to a terrible start on the home leg going behind 2-0. we ended up having to win all doubles games to stay in competition!! The darbys Dream tem did the buissness and survived to fight another day and last tuesday night won the replay 5-0. well done lads. Hard luck on the Dunloe Team They really played some great Darts. We looked forward to the final now and hopefully the Gods will be with us again!!

Congratulations to James Barlow on his recent engagement to Wendy Darling.

Unfortunately James will be leaving Darby's this Sunday

to embark on a new life with his 'Darling'.
